So this came from home at the auctions. Shit. I didn't think about that. I need to go check some auctions, but I'd love some company.

[A young blonde appears on screen. One which Dick may or may not recognize as having been seen sleeping on Damian's couch not too long ago, while people were still gradually emerging from the bottle.]

I'm sorry to bother you, but...may I ask you something?

[He definitely recognies her. Maybe they don't that much, but it'd be hard to forget someone who slept on a couch where you live.]

Sure, Midii. What's up?

[She considered her words carefully, trying to figure out the best way to phrase things.]

It's about Damian.

Is...something wrong? He's not really acting like his usual self.

[Ah. Okay. Okay. Dick pauses.]

We're going through some family problems right now, so everyone is kind of on edge. Damian is... okay. We're all just trying to figure stuff out right now.

[So there was a reason. Her suspicions had been right.]

[On the one hand, it meant that Dick knew what was wrong. And if it was a family thing, and he was Damian's family, then he would be the best person to know what to do or how to help. Assuming help could be given. That depended upon what exactly was wrong.]

[On the other hand...Midii was most definitely not family. Which meant she would probably be useless in this kind of situation, and shouldn't bother him. Solace was not her strong suit, and she knew well enough what family meant.]

I see.

[Relief that there was an answer. Sadness at what that answer actually was. Pity that he was dealing with something so difficult, but also the faintest hint of jealousy that...well...]

He's lucky, at least. That he has you to help him. I'm...glad.

[That he's okay. That's he's not alone.]

Yeah, I'm glad that we're here for each other during this. [He sighs, but there's a small smile.]

He could use a friend, though. Someone to be there for him, even if it's just to help distract him. Think you can help out with that?

[There was a faint smile on her lips, but not so much at his words as at the thought that he would be kind enough to tell her such a thing...which, judging by the light shake of her head, she clearly didn't believe.]

He doesn't need me. I'd only be in his way right now.

[His smile turns a little sad at that.]

That's exactly when someone needs you the most.

...if he asks. If he wants me to help him, I will.

He's not going to ask. [He laughs at that. It's not really funny, but come on.]

He might not want help, Midii, but that doesn't mean he doesn't need it.
